See the full service areaTest it about every three months, and always before spring thaw and before a stretch of forecasted heavy rain. Pour a bucket of water into the pit until the float rises. The pump should start promptly, empty the pit, and shut off cleanly. If it hesitates, chatters, or keeps running after the pit is empty, have it looked at.
